Commander Josh Taylor is a military fellow in the International Security Program at CSIS in Washington, D.C. He is a Navy foreign area officer (Asia Pacific) and recently completed a four-year assignment as deputy chief, Office of Defense Cooperation Malaysia. He previously served as an EA-6B Prowler electronic countermeasures officer and as a legislative affairs officer at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Commander Taylor is a graduate of Hawaii Pacific University (M.A. Distinction), the George Washington University (M.A. Distinction), and the U.S. Naval Academy (B.S. Merit). He is an Eagle Scout, a black belt in aikido, and conversant in Malaysian and Indonesian.
